Project Introduction:

Building on last year’s field research and interviews in Cambodian communities, and continuing our partnership with TFCF Cambodia, this year’s service of NYCU the Bridge of ASEAN and Taiwan focused on two key themes: physical health and mental health. We also launched a new online program for Cambodian youth, where they can join us in discussing course details and ways to improve through digital tools. In parallel, Cambodian university students were guided to use platforms like Canva to design visually engaging posters with health education content, strengthening both their practical skills and local outreach capacity. Through diverse forms of collaboration, the program fostered cross-cultural communication and encouraged mutual exchange and learning.

In addition, BAT continued to collect first-hand data by conducting community field research and needs assessments, as well as gathering residents’ feedback on health education contents. These insights serve as a basis for future course design and service adjustments, ensuring that the programs better reflect local needs and cultural contexts, thereby deepening their positive impact.

Service Benefits:

Besides designing different versions of courses for different communities, this year, we also focused more on games and DIY activities to improve class participation and interactions. In general, the residents were satisfied with our course design, and they also believed that the contents of our courses could be easily applied in their daily lives.

Furthermore, with the 10 laptops sponsored by ASUS, we held a workshop at TFCF, where Cambodian college students exchanged ideas about how to use digital tools to create beautiful and practical posters about common health issues with us. During the workshop, all of us shared our past experiences of learning new digital technologies, which allowed us to get to know each other better.

Future Prospects:

During our volunteering program, we found many details regarding our service that we were not aware of before our trip to Cambodia. Moreover, by conducting field research, we obtained a more comprehensive understanding of the local lifestyle. We hope that the information we obtained will be able to assist BAT8 in designing an even more tailored service for the locals. BAT looks forward to providing more information about health education to the local residents and improving their overall well-being.
