Project Introduction
In June 2019, the Department of Social Work of Shih Chien University ,led by Professor 石泱, organized a team of students to provide service work at the mercy house in Northern Thailand. Due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, many overseas exchange services were suspended. After the epidemic slows down in 2023, we will continue the pattern of 2019 and send 4 sophomores to the local area; This year (2024) will also continue the pattern of last year, and 4 sophomores will be sent to serve locally, which will not only expand students' international horizons, but also help students better understand their interests when choosing an internship agency in their third year in the future. In addition, the project applied for 8 recycled laptops from the ASUS Cultural and Educational Foundation, and the members will bring the laptops to the local area, and through a series of curriculum design, they will raise the children's understanding of information technology and expand their horizons.
Service Benefits
This project has applied for 8 recycled laptops from the ASUS Cultural and Educational Foundation. The official service will start on July 1, end the computer teaching activities on July 14, and return to Taiwan on July 15. Before setting off to the local area, the students designed a series of lesson plans with the goal of improving the digital technology capabilities of Meng En School children. It is expected that 10 children will benefit from one class, and they will be divided into kindergarten classes, lower grades, middle grades and seniors. A total of about 40 children in each grade benefited, reaching 200 person-times.
Future Prospects
Continuing last year's plan, this time we also brought 8 Asus recycled laptops to Mae Sai Meng En School. We also planned a series of lesson plans, hoping to bring more different experiences to the children. We hope that in the future, children will be able to use the power of information technology to expand their horizons and make themselves stronger.
